Optical Fiber Termination Box Material Properties

The material of the component which optical fiber termination box in should be anticorrosive, or be embalmed. It must have stable performance in physical and chemical. Materails must be compatible to each other and to the optic fiber sheath and wiring tail fiber sheath. Preventing from corrosion and other electrical damage, the materials must be compatible to other common materials in the equipment as well.

5.1 If the optical fiber termination box contains engineering plastic, the combustion performance must conform to GB/T5169.7, test A. That is the testing fire must burn for 30 seconds.

5.2 The melt temperature of optical fiber splice strengthened protector and filler materials should be no less than 120. It should be useful at -25~+40.

5.3 All the materials should be non-toxic and non-corrosion to health and without side-effect to other devices.

In appearance, optical fiber terminal box should be intact, without burr, bubble, chap, bending and impurities. The background color should be uniform and continuous. If it is shapely, esay-constructed and less in connecting additional loss and with reasonable structure,  the strengthened optical cable core can be fixed in the terminal box, and optical cable metal protector can be elicited.  It applies to both ribbon cable and common cable. The terminal box is designed specially, including 19 inches on the rack and wall-hung type.

Mechanical Performance  The optical fiber terminal box itself and internal parts shoulod not change after following test. Fiber optical inspection will be made if necessary.

1. Tensility: The optical fiber terminal box should withstand no less than 500N axial tensile force with a optical fiber, and no less than 5N with any ohter wiring tail fiber.

2. Squash: Every side of the terminal box should can withstand no less than 200N vertical static pressure.

3. Torsion: The terminal box should be able to withstand the torsion angle.

Eletrical Performance

1. Insulation resistance: The insulation resistance should be no less than 2*104MΩ between cable connector box metal components and metal reinforced core cable, optical cable to each other, and optical cable metal components to the ground. [Testing Voltage is 500VDC

2. Dieletric Strength: There is no breakdown and arcing phenomenon between cable connector box metal components and metal reinforced core cable, optical cable to each other, and optical cable metal components to the ground under 15Kv DC for 1 minute.
